About Stainless Steel
Why are Stainless Steel Products Eco-friendly?
100% recyclable, stainless steel does not produce toxic runoff because it is not coated with any toxic material. The amount of energy required to produce stainless steel has dramatically decreased due to increased manufacturing efficiency.
With up to 70% of the product coming from recycled materials, stainless steel uses scrap metal as its main raw material. Even if it is not recycled and ends up in a landfill or disposal site, it will not have any adverse effect on the soil or groundwater.
Designated stainless because it does not corrode or rust as easily as regular steel, stainless steel is a durable material of choice for eKodoKi’s beverage containers and cutlery.
Stainless steel is an alloy of Iron and Carbon, with a minimum of 10.5% Chromium that provides corrosion resistance. It also contains Silicon and Manganese; Nickel and Molybdenum may be added to enhance formability and increase corrosion resistance.
